Prof. Dr Beth Singler  is the Assistant Professor in Digital Religion(s) at the University of Zurich, where she is also the Co-Director of the University's Research Priority Programme (URPP) in Digital Religion(s), a member of the Directorate of the Digital Society Initiative, and co-lead of the Media Existential Encounters and Evolving Technology Lab. An anthropologist, her internationally renowned research focuses on the entanglements of religion and AI; the social and ethical implications of the current age of AI; our stories, narratives, and tropes about the future of humanity through ideologies such as transhumanism and posthumanism; and utopian and dystopian visions of the future of humanity such as our aspirations for an interstellar civilisation or for contact with other intelligences - artificial or not.
