The University of Zurich is home to a large number of researchers working on topics related to space. Their works spans a wide range of academic disciplines, from the natural sciences to theology, and is concerned with understanding space (e.g.,astrophysics), using space to help us better understand Earth (e.g.,Earth observation), emerging legal questions under international and space law, how to explore space with autonomous systems, how to survive in space (space life sciences),  how space is portrayed in art, film, and literature, and what relationship and responsibilties we have to space (e.g. earth-space system science , ethics, sustainability, and theology).
